When we began in 2007 only 25% of animals who entered the city shelter were placed in homes, but by 2018 that number had increased to 86%. Help support homeless animals and leave a lasting legacy at the new Humane Society of Charlotte Animal Resource Center. Adoptable Animals

Beginning March 24, 2020, we will have a dedicated shelter staff member at our front doors keeping a waitlist of contact information for those waiting to enter who meet the above-listed criteria. To continue practicing smart social distancing, around five members of the public will be allowed in at a time. For the safety of our staff as well as our community, we will continue to request that after checking in, visitors wait in their cars until we call them in. Other animal types, such as kittens, cats, and small pets, require an appointment to be scheduled online through our Bookings page.

As an independent, local nonprofit, HSPPR doesn’t receive donations from national humane societies or animal welfare groups. Whether monetary or in-kind, your generosity will help animals in need.
